Allison Amo MA, LPC
Allison Amo is a licensed professional counselor who received her Master’s Degree in Professional Mental Health Counseling with an emphasis in addictions and certification in the treatment of eating disorders from Lewis & Clark College. She provides a collaborative and holistic mind-body approach to psychotherapy. Allison believes that every individual has an innate capacity to heal and deepen their connection to self/others. She offers practical tools to help you achieve a greater sense of growth and well-being, and find relief from unhealthy patterns that keep you stuck. It is her goal to create a safe and compassionate environment in which your unique strengths and resources can be accessed and the negative experiences from the past that continue to affect you in the present can be uncovered and unresolved. She specializes in working with adolescents and adults who experience relationship issues, depression, anxiety, trauma, substance abuse, and eating disorders. Within these modalities, she integrates psychodynamic, mindfulness, EMDR and attachment theory, while also utilizing other tools and therapy techniques from sensorimotor psychotherapy and somatic psychology.
In addition to her private practice, Allison is the current President and Education Chair of the International Association of Eating Disorders (IAEDP) Willamette Valley Chapter. As the President, she is actively involved in educating the community on the topic of eating disorders and body image. It is her joy and honor to accompany you during this part of your journey towards a more fulfilled and healed life.
